Cerea'lius
(
*Kerea/lios), a poet of the Greek Anthology, whose time and country are unknown. Three epigrams are ascribed to him by Brunck (
Anal. ii. p. 345), but of these the third is of very doubtful authorship. Of the other two the first is a jocose allusion to the poetic contests at the Grecian games, the second is in ridicule of those grammarians who thought to pass for pure Attic writers on the strength of a few Attic words and, in general, of the use of obsolete words.
