Gallus, Ru'brius
a contemporary of the emperor Otho, commanded a detachment of troops at Brixellun; and after the fall of Otho he assisted in suppressing the insurrection among the soldiers, A. D 69. Shortly after he is said to have instigated Caecina to his treachery against Vitellius ; and Vespasian afterwards sent him out to suppress the Sarmatians, in which he succeeded. The C. Rubrius Gallus, who was consul suffectus in A. D. 101, may have been a son of our Rubrius Gallus. (
