Simo'is

*Simo/eis), the god of the river Simois, which flows from mount Ida, and in the plain of Troy joins the Xanthus or Scamander (Hom.
Il. 774, 12.22;
Verg. A. 5.261).
He is described as a son of Oceanus and Tethys (Hes.
Theog. 342), and as the father of Astyoche and Hieromneme. (
