A bill has been reported in the Virginia Senate to change the names of the counties of Buchanan and Scott. It is quite proper to wipe out from the map of Virginia everything that serves to perpetuate the name of an enemy or a traitor, and the proposition will doubtless meet the unanimous approval of the people. The bill alluded to does not suggest the names to be substituted, though ‘ Cary’ and ‘ Carrington,’ well known in the history of Virginia, have been under consideration.
