Headley, Joel Tyler 1813-1897

Author; born in Walton, N. Y., Dec. 30, 1813; graduated at Union College in 1839; later took up literary work. His publications include Washington and his Generals; Life of Washington; Chaplains of the Revolution; The Great rebellion; Grant and Sherman, their campaigns and Generals; Farragut and our naval commanders, etc. He died in Newburg, N. Y., Jan. 16, 1897. [369]
