Sanderson, John -1844

Author; born near Carlisle, Pa., in 1783; was educated privately; studied law but never practised; became a teacher and later associate principal of Clermont Seminary; and was Professor of Latin and Greek in the Philadelphia High School from 1836 till his death. He published, with his brother, the first two volumes of Biography of the signers of the Declaration, of Independence; and was the author of The American in Paris; The American in London; etc. He died in Philadelphia, Pa., April 5, 1844.
