Jones, Joseph 1727-1805

Jurist; born in Virginia in 1727; elected a member of the House of Burgesses; to the Continental Congress in 1778; also to the convention of 1778; in 1778 he was appointed judge of the general court of Virginia; resigned in 1779, but accepted a reappointment the same year. He died at his home in Virginia, Oct. 28, 1805.
