Lock′er.
(Nautical.) A compartment in a ship for stowing away things. The chain-lockers are centered around the foot of the main-mast. Shot-lockers are recesses and shelves for shot. Lockers in the cabin are for various articles, answering to closets, and may be fastened by a lock.
