Drain—pipe.


1. (Brewing.) The pipe through which the wort, is drawn from the mash-tub to the under-back.

2. (Husbandry.) Clay pipe, known as drain-tiles, laid beneath the surface of the soil below plow depth, in order to carry off superfluous water and increase the fertility and ease of working the soil. See tiles.

The tempered clay being placed in a cylinder, the piston is depressed and the clay exudes through the annular throat of the dod, forming a continuous cylinder which is cut by a wire into sections of the required length.
