Bookwood's Independent Battery Light Artillery

Organized June, 1861, from detachments of 8th and 29th Regiments New York Infantry.

Attached to Blenker's Brigade, Miles' Division, McDowell's Army of Northeast Virginia.

Advance on Manassas, Va., July 16-21.

Battle of Bull Run July 21.

Battery reorganized at Washington and mustered in August 16, 1861.
