The 1st Battalion of Frontier Cavalry consisted of five companies which were mustered into service Dec. 30, 1864, and Jan. 2, 1865. The battalion left the State soon after its muster and was attached to the 26th New York Cavalry, and performed guard duty on the New York frontier. It was mustered out June 30, 1865.
