5 تَخَفَّرَ see 1, in two places. ― -b2- تَخفّربِهِ also signifies He had recourse to him for refuge, protection, or preservation; sought his protection; asked him to be his خَفِير [or protector]; (S, A, * K;) and so ↓ خَفَرَهُ ; (TA;) [and ↓ استخفرهُ , occurring in the S, in art. قوب:] he protected, or defended, himself by means of him; syn. اِحْتَمَى بِهِ. (Msb.)
