An American Slave set Free by a British Chief Justice.

--It is understood that information has been received in Washington from the Governor of Washington Territory, that a slave on board an American vessel, which entered the harbor of Victoria, Vancouver's Island, has been taken from the vessel and set free by the Chief Justice of the Island. A pretty high-handed measure this.
