Public officers of Iowa in a bad Fix.

--The last Iowa Legislature, in repealing a whole section of the revised statutes, inadvertently swept away every provision for the payment of public officers, county and State, who receive their salaries in fees. Witnesses, jurors, county officers and State functionaries suffer alike, and the courts have just decided that there is no remedy for them until the Legislature (which does not meet until 1862) passes a curative act.
