Sad Calamity.

--A young couple, named John Lytle and Mary Jane Spooner, were allied in marriage at Barrington Station, on Sunday, the 18th inst., and proceeded on Monday, full of hope and happiness, for their new home in Minnesota, where the husband owned a valuable property. Arriving at La Crosse they stepped on board the steamboat bound for St. Paul, and in promenading the deck the young husband accidently lost his footing and stepped overboard. All efforts to rescue him were unavailing, and the young and happy bride of a few hours before returned to her home a disconsolate widow.--Chicago Journal.
