Threats.

--An untimely exhibition of anger on the part of Bill Moss, a Petersburg free negro, (arrested for being in the city contrary to law,) made at the cage yesterday morning against Wm. Johnson, a free negro, was the cause of the former being arraigned before Recorder Caskie at the City Hall at a later hour. The dispenser of the law's favor deemed it his duty to curb the belligerent propensities of Moss, and he was awarded 20 lashes and ordered to be detained in custody till the 16th inst.
