--The third lecture before the Young Men's Christian Association will be delivered at the Second Baptist Church, this evening, by
John R. Thompson.
Subject, "Fools, and their uses" We never could clearly decide to our own satisfaction
what use a regular, downright
foolcould be put to, but upon this interesting subject
Mr. Thompson will no doubt cast a flood of light.
It strikes us as an excellent foundation for anecdote and illustrative quotation, which the lecturer will not be apt to neglect.
Mr. Thompson is one of the very best lecturers that we have ever heard — and we have heard great numbers of them.
His delivery is eminently pleasing, his enunciation clear and forcible, and we have never yet known what it was to feel a sentiment of weariness while listening to him. We are quite sure that everybody who attends the lecture to-night will be amply repaid, and we hope that there will be a large crowd upon the occasion.
