The Bellona Foundry.

The N. Y. Tribune, in a long tirade upon the above subject, has the following item of Richmond intelligence, which we have not seen in any other paper:

‘ "One of the members of the Virginia House made a speech in opposition to the measure, in the course of which he property characterized the act as being as clearly a case of larceny as if a man stole the horse of another, and boldly said there was no moral, legal, or constitutional right to seize the arms. These views created much excitement, and later in the day the member was shot, as we learn from the papers; the ostensible cause for the shooting does not clearly appear, though a street quarrel is suggested by the telegraph; but it would be only consistent with the folly of the Old Dominion if its Disunion leaders should attempt to put down free speech by slaying its honest representatives."
