Ashland.

As has been seen by our advertising columns, the sale of Ashland, ‘"loveliest village of thep,"’ takes place onWednesday, the 17th day of April.This charming little spot, with its picturesque cottages embowered in shrubbery, and exhibiting in almost every edifice an unusual degree of architectural taste and even elegance, is really one of the most attractive objects that the traveler sees on the whole line of railroad from Fredericksburg to Charleston. A more agreeable and healthy rural retreat it would be difficult to find. Its proximity to Richmond renders it a very desirable residence for persons doing business in this city, and it will be seen that the company have extended the free passage on the railroad to the heads of families, to twenty-one years. Such advantages and inducements ought to have their weight with the public, and especially in times when economy and retrenchment are the order of the day.
