--Despite the general dullness of the times, the canal boats pursue the even tenor of their way. We can see no diminution in the amount of trade carried on by boats between this city and the interior.--Little villages on the line of the Canal have poured into this city their quota of troops destined for State defence, without stint, in large numbers, healthy condition, and full of the right spirit of resistance to tyranny and oppression. They will give the enemy a vast deal of trouble, should they be afforded the pleasure of coming face to face with them.
