The Confederate Congress.


Montgomery, Ala., May 17.
--Congress passed a number of bills to-day, among which are the following: ‘Organizing a Patent Office; regulating the sale of Prizes; regulating the Telegraph; authorizing the issue of bonds to the amount of fifty millions, payable in twenty years, the interest not to exceed 8 per cent.; or, in lieu of the bonds, to issue twenty millions of Treasury Notes, in small sums, without interest. ’


Montgomery, Ala., May 18.
--Arkansas was admitted into the Confederacy to-day by Congress. Delegates — R. W. Johnson, A. Rust, A. H. Garland, W. W. Watkins, H. T. Thompson.
