The Illness of Judge Douglas.

--On Saturday morning last it was thought that Judge Douglas (who has being lying ill at Chicago for several days) was dying, but when his physicians and friends were in despair his iron energy rose over all, and he said, ‘"I am well aware of my danger and the despair of my friends, but I better know the power of endurance of my constitution, and believe it will be equal to the emergency."’ Subsequently he rallied, and the Chicago Post of Sunday says:

‘ It will be a great relief to the people to learn that Judge Douglas yesterday continued to improve, and unless some unexpected change for the worse takes place, his recovery now is considered certain. Yesterday evening Dr. Thomas Miller, of Washington, accompanied by Mrs. Cutts and J. M. Cutts, jr., mother and brother of Mrs. Douglas, reached this city. Daniel P. Rhodes, Esq., and lady, near relatives of Judge Douglas, also arrived last evening.
