Nonsensical and ridiculous

--A rum was extensively circulated yesterday, that water in the City Reservoir had been poison. Such a report might do to amuse gossip for a leisure hour; but, to say the least, it was both mischievous and ridiculous. Superintendent Davis was at work there yesterday, and authorizes the above statement. Strict gun is kept at all times.
