Head shaved.

--A distinguished traveler, from the land of wooden nutmegs, passed through this city yesterday morning en route for the North, in charge of two gentlemen, who had been appointed a committee to escort him to Mason & Dixon's line. The traveler referred to had been arrested by some one of the Vigilance Committees South, for giving too much tongue to his abolition principles, and besides having his head shaved and his face blackened, had been shipped for home, "right side up with care."
