Our Countrymen abroad.

--Papers at home and abroad concur in stating that there are about three thousand of our fellow-citizens away from their native land. We may suppose that one-half of these are absent a whole year, and spend, on an average, two thousand dollars annually, which is $30,000,000. Suppose the other half of these fashionable emigrants to spend one thousand dollars per annum, and we have $45,000,000. Vast numbers of people on the continent depend on this sum, and that expended by English and Russian travelers, for their support. Hotel, steamboats and railroads innumerable base their calculations on this foreign influx.
