Assassination.

--William Roberts was shot dead at his residence near Lake City (Fla.) on the night of the 12th, by some unknown person. The family had retired for the night when Mr. Roberts was hailed by some one at the gate. He arose and stepped to the door to see who it was, when he received the fatal charge in his breast, and almost instantly expired.
