The Senate of Maryland has adopted a report requesting the Governor to return to the armories of the State the arms removed by his order to Fort McHenry, or placed in the hands of ununiformed volunteer companies, and to return to all regularly organized volunteer companies the arms reclaimed from them.

Vice-Admiral the Hon. Sir Richard Saunders Dendas, K. C. B., died suddenly on the 3d. He was senior naval lord commissioner of the Admiralty, and succeeded the late Sir C. Napier in the command of the Baltic floppy in 1835.

The Louisville Journal says that Andy Johnson denies that he ever wrote a letter to Mr. Lawrende, or received a dollar from him, or proposed to negotiate for money with anybody at the North of course he would deny it.

A new flag staff has been placed in position at Fort Sumter, and the Confederate flag hoisted thereon. A heavy armament is being placed in the Fort.

Mr. Andrew P. Thomas, of Georgetown District, S. C., was assassinated while standing near the door of his house, a few nights ago.

The case of John Marryman, Esq., was still under investigation in the U. S. District Court at Baltimore on the 24th inst.

Samuel Hasting, Esq., arrested in Baltimore for treason, has been sentenced to bail 80,000.
