--Some portion of the clerical talent at the North have discovered that the cause of the defeat at Manassas was owing to the fact that the engagement took place on the Sabbath? Obtuse minds will fail to discover wherein it is worse to fight battles than to preach war on the Sabbath. Had a portion of the Northern clergy given as much attention for a few years past to the principles of peace and good neighborhood, as enunciated in the Bills. they would not have had to mourn the deseration of the Sabbath by contending armies.
