It is related in one of our contemporaries that a number of patriots have recently arrived in Richmond, in search of employment under the Confederate Government. The parties alluded to, according to the same authority, are those who only recently left Washington, having held on to the Lincoln regime as long as safety themselves whether such characters shall or shall not succeed in foisting themselves on the Government of the Southern Confederacy. A walk, however, through and by several Departments of the Government taken yesterday evening by the Reporter of this paper, convinced that individual that there was enough clerical force now employed in the several departments to make one or two respectable battalions of ‘"Government Zouaves"’ for the defence of Southern rights. The individual named never saw such violent attempts to do nothing for good pay in his life on the part of so large and respectable a body of his quill driving friends, as he had the happiness of willnessing yesterday evening. The sight was in structive, if not amusing. Everybody should have an office.
