Get ready for winter.

--The suggestion heretofore made that the ladies of the South would so far take time by the forelock as to prepare articles of winter clothing for our brave volunteers now in the field, if adopted, will be of infinite service in expediting the cause we all have so much at heart. There is hardly a family in the whole Southern Confederacy that could not prepare one or more pair of nice woolen socks; and such articles will be indispensable for the use of our soldiers in the coming winter. The latter will be here in a few months, and if the preparation of socks and other needful articles is commenced now, much labor will be saved when an imperative necessity shall demand that they be forthcoming.
