[for the Richmond Dispatch]
a card.

In the Daily Dispatch of June 28th, there appeared a letter from me to the Second Company Polk County Volunteers. The language of that letter can be so construed as to convey the idea that the postmaster at this place sent the letters to the dead letter office. The letter was written hastily, and it was not my intention to convey the idea that the postmaster here sent them. As I wish to do in justice to no man, it is due to the postmaster that I make this correction, as the postmaster started them to their point of destination, and they finally got to our volunteers.
