Rumored Collision.

--The Lynchburg Virginian says:

‘ A report was brought here by an officer of the Virginia and Tennessee Railroad that a company of Union men from East Tennessee was marched towards Cumberland Gap to take care of Mr. Nelson when it was reported that he has been captured. They were over hauled by some Confederate troops and their captain and 1st lieutenant shot, when the residue surrendered. We do not vouch for the truth of the report.
