Meeting of the Executive Committee of the Louisiana soldiers' aid Society.

At a second meeting of the Executive Committee of the Louisiana ‘"Soldiers' Relief Association,"’ held at the Exchange Hotel. Richmond, on Tuesday evening, September 3, 1861, Mr. S. L. Chambliss was called to the Chair, and H. N. Young appointed Secretary.

On motion of Dr. Alexis Mercier, the Chairman was called upon for his report of the condition and wants of the Louisiana volunteers North of Manassas.

The report being read, on motion of Dr. Mercier said report was accepted and ordered to be printed in the Richmond Whig and Dispatch.

On motion of the Chairman, Dr. Mercier going to Manassas, was solicited to call upon the Surgeons of the different Louisiana regiments, and request them to make immediate requisition for such medicines and hospital stores as they may require.

On motion of Colonel John H. Martin, it was

Resolved, That Dr. Luke P. Blackburn and S. L. Chambliss be, and are, appointed agents to solicit contributions of all kinds for the relief of the Soldiers' Association of Louisiana Volunteers.

On motion of the Chairman, a vote of thanks was tendered Mrs. Dr. Gaines, of Hanover county, Va., for her disinterested kindness in making up a large supply of sheets for the Louisiana Hospital in this city.

On motion, the meeting then adjourned sine die. S. L. Chambliss, Chairman.

Report of Mr. S. L. Chambliss, made to the Executive Committee of the Louisiana Soldiers' Relief Association, on Tuesday evening, Sept. 3, 1861, as to the wants and necessities of the different Louisiana Regiments North of and at Manassas.

  1. 1st. Sixth Regiment Louisiana Volunteers, Col. Seymour Commanding, wants 850 blankets, 850 under-shirts, 850 pairs drawers. A portion of the Regiment is entirely destitute of blankets, and such as they have are small and almost useless.
  2. 2d. Seventh Regiment Louisiana Volunteers, Col. Hayes commanding, wants 860 blankets, 860 under shirts, 860 pairs drawers, and 1,000 pair socks.
  3. 3d. Eighth Regiment Louisiana Volunteers, Col. Kelly commanding, wants medicines, bed sacks, sheets, &c.
  4. 4th. Ninth Regiment Louisiana Volunteers, Col. Taylor commanding wants 872 blankets, 872 under shirts, 872 pairs drawers, 872 pairs shoes, and 1,744 pairs of socks. This regiment is absolutely in need of the above articles, many of the men being entirely destitute of blankets, shoes, &c.
  5. 5th. Washington Artillery, Major Walton commanding — Wants fully supplied at present.
  6. 6th. Madison Tips, in battery at Manassas, (N,) Capt. Moody commanding — Will want under clothing for winter.
  7. 7th. Wheat's Battalion, Col. Wheat commanding — Wants not ascertained.
There is much sickness in the 6th, 7th and 8th Louisiana Regiments, particularly the latter, which have been severely afflicted.--The Eighth Louisiana, Washington Artillery and Moody's command, are in excellent health. S. L. Chambliss,
