The total population is 672,024.
Of these 644,080 are whites, 21,936 free colored, and eight slaves.

Journal of Commerce, has sold his interest to
Mr. Stone, the commercial editor, and
Mr. Prime, one of its chief contributors.
The paper, under its new management, has been restored to the privileges of the mail, and it is understood that it will sustain the
Government in the prosecution of the war.
