An Almshouses burned.

--The Erie county (New York) poor house was entirely destroyed by fire on Thursday, involving a loss of from $8,000 to $10,000, on which there was no insurance. About four hundred people, including some of the insane, were in the edifice when the fire was first discovered, but they were all gotten out safely.
