Anniversary.

--This is the anniversary of our State Agricultural Exhibition, but the Fair Grounds present a spectacle somewhat different from the bovine shows of former years. Instead of sending in their fat cattle and hogs to compete for prizes, the graziers now urge them on to the slaughter pens, and we see them passing through the metropolis in large droves, with slow and melancholy step, as if conscious that they are attending their own funerals. Such are the exigencies of war.
