C. S. District Court.

--In the case of the Confederate States vs. John H. Gilmer, to affect the property of an alien enemy in his hands, the questions of law arising on the demurrer filed by the defendant, were overruled. Judge Halyburton sustained the constitutionality of the Sequestration law in an able opinion. He decided, further, that the interrogatories propounded to garnishees of alien enemies are restricted by the act of the Confederate Congress, and that the interrogatories issued under the instructions of the Attorney General were not in conformity with that act.

In the case of Louisa Tatum, indicted for felony, a nolle prosequi has been entered by the District Attorney.
