Swindling.

--John C. Crewson, a young man wearing the garb of a soldier, is under arrest for swindling William H. Burton out of a $20 note. The offence is alleged to have been committed in the house of E. Hubbard & Co., on Cary street. The accused desired to borrow $3, and offered a tempting bonus for the use of it. Mr. Burton produced his $20 note, and Crewson is charged with handing it to some mysterious ‘"Orderly Sergeant,"’ who, instead of making change for it, put it in his pocket and made tracks. The Mayor, after a partial investigation, continued the case until this morning.
