Theatricals in Camp.
--Imitating the example of the ‘"Zouaves of the Crimea and
Algeria,"’ our boys in camp contrive to invent ways and means to relieve the monotony of their present existence by the agreeable introduction of theatricals.
We have received from members of the Young Guard the programme of a dramatic performance for the amusement of their comrades, to take place at Camp Deas, on Christmas Eve.
The leading play of the occasion is the ‘"Maniac Avenger,"’ in which several distinguished actors (in the language of show bills generally) ‘"make their first appearance in this place."’ Then there is a banjo performance, a song about the Bethel fight, and other novelties, all of which will contribute vastly to the pleasures of Christmas Eve in camp.
We regret that we are unable to accept an invitation to be present on the occasion.
