Arrest of a mail Robber.

--We understand that the mail-carrier between Campbell Court-House, Marysville, and Green Hill, has been arrested and committed for the crime of robbing the mails. For some time letters containing money have been missing along this route, and many remittances from the soldiers to their friends in the county have never reached their destination. Suspicion rested upon the mail-carrier, whose name is Jackson, and Mr. John Sweeney, the efficient postmaster at Marysville, set a trap to catch him. A decoy letter, containing a five dollar bill and twenty- five cents in speele, carefully marked by him, was deposited in the Campbell Court House Post- Office, directed to himself at Marysville. The trick was successful; the letter did not come to hand, and when the carrier was arrested this identical money was found upon his person, together with letters for various other parties.-- Lynchburg Virginian, 28th.
