Work in the departments.

A new feature in the departments is the ‘"night sessions,"’ which we believe do not exist under the old Government. The working hours are from nine in the morning to three in the evening, and from six to eight at night. It must be admitted that the heads of departments and their clerks have no sinecure under the Confederate Government. Few people have any idea of the amount of labor performed by these officers.
