The St. Louis Canard.

The telegraph yesterday brought to this city from Savannah, a report that General Price had captured the city of St. Louis; the extraordinary information having originated, it was stated, with a telegraph operator at Nashville, Tenn. While we believe Price is brave enough to attack St. Louis, and will eventually capture that city, we regard it as strange that the Government has received no intelligence of his having yet made a demonstration, if the report has any foundation in fact. We need only add, that it scarcely created a ‘"sensation"’ here yesterday.
