--The Goldsborough correspondent of the Petersburg Express writes:

‘ The greatest outrage and cruelty that ever was committed in any part of the civilized world was witnessed at Newborn last Friday. The Yankee Hessians, without giving any notice to remove women and children out of the town, after passing the batteries, came up with their gunboats and fired bombshells into the town for two hours, apparently trying to kill as many helpless women and children as possible.
