New Style of Bank check.

--We were shown yesterday the following check, which was presented for payment at the counter of one of our most influential financial concerns. It exhibits a new phase in banking ethics, and may be regard as an offspring of the state of affairs by which we are now surrounded. The check alluded to reads as follows, and we are assured that there is no money to the credit of the party signing it. The public should be cautions in receiving this kind of ‘"currency:"’

Carrier of the Farmers' Bank, at Richmond, Va., pay one dollar to bearer, when presented in sum of five dollars. Redeemable, also, in antler's stores.
