Yankee tax on tobacco.

--Remonstrances from Kentucky have been presented in the Federal Congress against the project for taxing leaf tobacco three cents a pound. The tax of Kentucky would be three millions, and that of Maryland a million and a half. It is said that some of the principal tobacco planters in Maryland hesitate to pitch crop this season, from an apprehension of loss on account of this tax.
