--On Monday, Cora Williams appeared before one of the city alderdermen and procured a warrant for the arrest of a man named James Denny, or Dervis, for threatening a violent assault, who, in pursuance of the mandate, was duly nabbed and put in the cage during the day. The case was to have been eliminated yesterday, but the witness failing to respond to her name, the accused party was directed to make himself scarce with all convenient speed — an injunction which he did not hesitate to obey.
