Supplies for the sick and Wounded.

We are informed that an arrangement has been made with the lock-keepers on the line of the James River and Kanawha Canal to receive and forward by packet supplies for the sick and wounded soldiers now in the city. Our country friends can render great service by availing themselves of this arrangement to forward vegetables, milk, butter, eggs, chickens, old linen, bedding, &c. On the arrival of the boat articles sent down will be deposited at Edmond's Packet Office. All packages directed to the ‘"Army Depot Y. M. C. A." ’ will be taken charge of and promptly distributed among the sick and wounded where most needed, by a committee appointed for the purpose. Articles of a perishable nature should be sent by packet. Clothing, bedding, &c., may be sent by freight boats, when it is not convenient to send by packet. We appeal to our friends on the river and canal to send along their supplies promptly.
