Deserters.

--Several deserters were brought in yesterday and handed over to Assistant Provost Marshal Alexander, who looked them up to await trial. It is time that some examples were made. There are not many officers to it sting about town now without the proper permission. Many have been overhauled, and some, who had no right to it, have doffed their gay uniforms. There are a few yet, but they will all be examined in turn.
