Our inquiries have failed to elicit anything new with reference to operations on the Rappahannock line. It is pretty well ascertained that Pope's army is being heavily reinforced, and an early engagement in that quarter is confidently anticipated.

The Central train yesterday afternoon brought down forty-three Federal prisoners from Staunton, who were captured at Harrisonburg shortly after the battle at Port Republic. Most of these prisoners — nearly all of whom are foreigners — were wounded in that engagement.
