Our Government a Despotism!

Col. Corcoran, who surrendered himself a prisoner of war with so much-heroism at
Manassas, tells the
Yankees be can assure them,
from his own experience, that our Government ‘" is a despotism."’ The experience of the
Colonel is limited.
He was confined in a dungeon all the time he was here.
Every malefactor in similar straits no doubt, thinks the same of the
Government that confines him in jail, and so far as his own experience goes, thinks correctly.
